Native to India and Southeast Asia this tree has found its way to the Polynesian islands as well. This bowl was turned once and allowed to dry and warp and take on its own character. Koa pewas (bowties) were used to repair the cracks that developed- similar ancient Hawaiian techniques used for hundreds of years.
Finished with a food safe tung oil finish.
